Chai with Jeeti: Introducing a series of interviews
Chai with Jeeti is a series of interviews where I will be sharing our Indian community’s stories. It is my hope that this will inform my children and others of our story. It is a tribute to my mum and dad who sacrificed so much to make a life for us ‒ leaving their country to come to England in the 1950s. It is the story of what their children have become.
I will initially be talking to my peers ‒ children of the first wave of Indian Immigrants. Those who grew up from the late 1950s and 1960s. It is the record of our memories and is the foundation of who we are. It is our collective voice.
